We assisted Domain Dynamics Ltd. ("DDL") in the design and implementation of a Software Development Kit (SDK) to allow customers to make use of DDL's proprietary Voice Authentication, Biometric and Voice Recognition technologies. We designed and implemented the project’s framework, including a multi-threaded multi-transport client-server system (which included a TCP/IP sockets implementation), a layered transport / protocol / business logic communications strategy and a dynamic factory-based plug-in architecture to allow modules to be chosen at runtime so that the entire system could be customised on the fly. All of our code was written with Visual C++ v6 and made extensive use of the STL / standard library. The target platform was Windows 2000 but with multi-platform deployment in mind, hence the use of wxWindows (now wxWidgets).
